Maritim Airport Hotel Hannover

As part of the guest initiative “ProTomorrow”, Dirk Breuckmann, Director of the Maritim Airport Hotel Hannover, handed over a cheque for 5,000 € to the association Kleine Herzen Hannover. The donation will be used to purchase small language translators for the paediatric clinic at Hannover Medical School (MHH) – a place where many families rely on support due to language barriers.

The donation results from guests voluntarily opting out of daily room cleaning. Instead of daily housekeeping, part of the savings is donated to charitable causes – a principle that benefits not only the environment but also social solidarity.

"Being able to support families in such challenging life situations through this initiative is a great motivation for us," said Breuckmann. During the handover, association chair Ira Thorsting showed him not only the practical devices, but also the children's ward – and how vital communication is in moments when words convey hope and trust.

The Maritim Airport Hotel Hannover is certified according to the GreenSign Hotel Standard.

As part of the certification process, an independent certification body reviews documented evidence and conducts an on-site audit to determine whether the hotel meets the requirements of the GreenSign Hotel Standard. The assessment covers areas including environmental management, energy and water consumption, waste management, social responsibility and regional sourcing. 

The audit report documents the assessment and provides recommendations for further development.
