Strong Commitment with Our ProTomorrow Sustainability Initiative
Supporting the Integrative Daycare Centre "KITA Kunterbunt"
With the ProTomorrow initiative, our guests can decide daily whether they wish to have their rooms cleaned. By opting out, they contribute to a selected social or environmental project at the respective hotel location. The proceeds from the "Pro Tomorrow" project at the Maritim Hotel Darmstadt benefit the "KITA Kunterbunt" initiative. The integrative daycare centre "KITA Kunterbunt" provides care for children with and without disabilities aged three to six years. Founded in 1960 by parents and friends of people with disabilities, the organisation has made a significant impact.
In April 2022, a cheque was handed over to support the daycare’s transport fleet.
"The donation goes directly towards acquiring two new minibuses, which we urgently need," expressed Vera Wilhelm and Freddy Zimmer, who jointly manage the daycare. The Chairwoman of Lebenshilfe, Elisabeth Bautz, also extended her gratitude for the generous support: "For children with disabilities, the transport service is immensely important. This is a meaningful and long-term investment."
In July 2023, the second donation cheque was presented to KITA Kunterbunt of Lebenshilfe Darmstadt. The cheque, amounting to 7,313 €, was handed over by Hotel Director Daniel Pawella and Assistant Director Angelique Volk and was used to purchase new play equipment for the integrative centre.
Good things come in threes. In September 2024, another cheque was presented to KITA Kunterbunt in Darmstadt. The joy over the generous donation of 11,257 € was immense. This year, the funds will once again be used to acquire new toys and learning materials.
