Acting sustainably - making a difference locally

Less energy and water consumption, minimalised food wastage, effcient refuse separation, reduced cleaning agent usage and clever resource management – all of the hotels in Maritim’s portfolio have been continually working on leaving the smallest environmental footprint possible for many years now. 

With our ProTomorrow project, the Maritim Hotels in Germany have started a new sustainability initiative: Those who spend several days in a Maritim Hotel can decide every day whether or not they want their room cleaned - and thus support regional environmental and social projects.

That's what you do:

Please help us to conserve natural resources.

For stays of several days, you can decide daily whether you want your room cleaned or not.  

Small ProTomorrow sacks have been placed in every room, along with a pamphlet explaining how the initiative works. If you decide to forego a visit from housekeeping you can hang the sack on the doorknob outside your room before midnight. The gesture is honoured with a small ‘thank you’ placed inside it the next day. Every uncleaned room benefits a selected social project in the area.
